Our Mission

The Autism School-Age Clinic's philosophy is to:

  • build on the strengths of children and families to support their growth and development.
  • serve as an adjunct to, rather than a substitute for, other community services.
  • serve the scientific community by gathering information that will be used in best practices research.

Services

Autism specialists meet with parents and children for the purposes of:

  • diagnosing autism spectrum disorders
  • identifying each child’s unique educational and behavioral needs
  • discussing appropriate educational and behavioral intervention strategies
  • helping parents promote their child’s social and communication development

Services are provided by a TRIAD psychologist and autism educational consultants.

Clinic Format

Three clinic visits are individualized to each family. During the first visit, parents’ needs and concerns are identified, and a comprehensive diagnostic assessment for autism spectrum disorder is conducted.

Subsequent visits focus on providing parents with strategies for addressing their child’s individual needs. Following the diagnostic assessment, a written report is provided to the parents.
