Areas of Interests

Christine Sartain is a parent advocate and was the 2011-12 LEND Family Trainee at the Kennedy Center. Christine has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Vanderbilt and a Master of Arts in Education Politics and Policy from Columbia University and has completed additional graduate coursework in education at Peabody. Christine’s professional background includes teaching, organizing, and policy advocacy, and she has leadership experience in both emerging and established volunteer organizations. Most recently, Christine has been involved in the Disability Coalition on Education and the Kennedy Center’s Volunteer Advocacy Project. She is currently working towards becoming an expert on special education policy and an experienced advocate for both children and adults with disabilities. Christine has a daughter, Lake, who has Down syndrome and attends the Susan Gray School.
