In this six-part training series, we offer a team-based process for training and developing a comprehensive school-wide prevention model that addresses academics (response to intervention, RTI), behavior (Positive Behavior Supports), and social skill components. As part of this comprehensive training, we will work with schools teams to teach their plan to all stakeholders, reinforce desired behaviors, and monitor their plan for the school and individual students. We will also teach school teams how to utilize data from treatment integrity and social validity measures and introduce validated screening tools to identify students who may need further supports. Finally, we will work with teams to create a coordinated approach to providing secondary and tertiary supports.
Teams will attend three full and three two-hour evening training sessions. Teams will learn about each component of the plan, see illustrations, and have a full and completed plan ready to be presented to faculty and staff at the completion of the training series. A Project Support and Include (PSI) Liaison will attend each training session with the team and will support school staff in finalizing all materials for implementation.
