Multiple sensory disorders
Multiple sensory disorders, or dual sensory impairments, refer to persons who have both vision and hearing impairments. Deafblindness consists of a loss in the areas of both vision and hearing. Losses may range from mild limitations to total blindness and profound deafness.
TREDS-Tennessee Project for Individuals with Combined Hearing and Vision Loss TREDS provides families, educators, and other professionals with knowledge and skills to improve outcomes for people, ages birth through 21, who have hearing and vision loss. Technical assistance and support is provided FREE to anyone who has both a vision and hearing loss or has a diagnosis that leads to a vision and hearing loss.
