Cognitive development

Cognition refers to the act or process of knowing, which includes awareness and judgment, perceiving, reasoning, and conceiving. Cognitive ability refers to individual level of functioning in intellectual tasks. Cognitive development refers to the acquisition of conscious thought, reasoning, symbol manipulation, and problem solving abilities beginning in infancy and following an orderly sequence.
