• Children 11 to 17 with no hearing loss

• birth to 10 years old

How well do children recognize emotions and understand the thoughts of others?

Looking for:

• 4-6 year old and 10-12 year old children
• with moderate or greater hearing loss and
• children with normal hearing

A good feeling about helping others through science.

Language & Cochlear Implants: Peeking at your child's abilities

Looking for:

• Children 3-6 years old with normal hearing OR
• Children 3-6 years old
• with hearing impairment
• using a cochlear implant for at least 6 months.

Psycho-educational development of young children with Minimal Hearing Loss

Looking for:

• Children in Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grade
• with or without minimal hearing loss

Compensation:

$25 per visit

Survey of Parents of Children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

Looking for:

• Parents of children with some level of permanent hearing loss
• diagnosed since 2002

Survey of Statewide Needs for Services in Developmental Disabilities

Looking for:

• Adults with or without disabilities
• Parents of children with disabilities
• Adults who work with persons with disabilities
• People who care about the welfare of people with disabilities

What's that in your ear? Children's attitudes towards their peers with hearing aids

Looking for:

• Typically developing children with normal hearing OR
• Children with hearing loss who wear hearing aids
• who are currently in the 2nd grade (6-7 years of age)OR
• who are in 4th or 5th grade (9-10 years of age)

Compensation:

Children will get a prize for participation.
