Iron Treatment of Sleep Disorders in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Description

This research project, part of the Autism Treatment Network (ATN), is testing a treatment for children, 2 to 10 years-old, who have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep.

We will ask you to:

  • Attend 2 classes to learn about study procedures
  • Have your child wear watches that measure activity and sleep and keep a diary of wake and sleep times
  • Bring your child to the clinic for 2-3 blood draws and 5 doctor’s visits
  • Fill out sleep survey forms throughout the study
  • Give your child the study liquid (either treatment or placebo) daily for 3 months.

Participant Criteria

Children with ASD, 2 to 10 years-old, who have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep.

Compensation

1 hour of individualized education with a sleep educator & compensation for your time

Visit Requirements

2-3 blood draws and 5 doctor’s visits
