We are studying how differences in temperament may relate to differences in brain function. This is a longitudinal study that runs for three years and will initially include three visits to Vanderbilt, and then one visit to Vanderbilt and one phone interview per year for the next three years.

You, as the parent, will be paid $20 for each study visit to Vanderbilt and you will be given a $15 gift card for each phone interview. Your child will be paid $30 for each study visit without an MRI (clinical interview, questionnaires, saliva samples, and practice MRI scan) and $50 for the MRI scan.
Healthy children 8 to 10 years old, in one of two groups:
1) Children who are very outgoing
2) Children who are very shy
