Description

Researchers at Meharry Medical College are seeking volunteers to participate in a teen health research study. The study focuses on helping improve care for youngsters suffering from depression.

This research study is approved by Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Eligible participants can receive:

  • Psychiatric evaluation at no cost
  • No cost study-related medical care and medications, depending on eligibility
  • Sleep study at no cost
  • Confidentiality regarding the information provided by child and family, within state guidelines
  • Services available to youth ages 12 – 21, with no income or insurance requirements
  • Summary report provided to other health professionals for assistance with medical and psychiatric use (only with express written permission)

Funded by National Institutes of Mental Health.

Participant Criteria

Eligible volunteers must be between 12 and 21 years and meet the following criteria:

  • Interested in participating in a research study
  • Has lost interest in activities that he/she used to enjoy previously or
  • Has been sad, angry or irritable recently
  • Compensation

    Compensation is provided for both travel and on-site evaluations and can range from between $25-$950 depending upon level of participation

    Visit Requirements

    Multiple visits, including treatment sessions
