Description

Do people have difficulty understanding when your child with Down syndrome speaks?

We are interested in comparing two different approaches to helping your child talk more clearly. Your child may be able to get at no cost, one of these research-supported articulation interventions that we believe will be especially good for kids with Down syndrome.

Here is what we will ask you or your child to do:

  • Continue with the child's current therapy program
  • Bring your child to the Vanderbilt Kennedy center for 2 confidential evaluations
  • Child participates in 1 hour therapy sessions, 2 times a week for six months at his or her school( during school year) or the Kennedy Center (during the summer)
  • Child will participate in frequent checks of speech progress
