Description

This research study seeks to learn more about how children become good readers. We are very interested in how children understand what they read. We need readers who struggle with this and those who do not. We will share the results of our testing with you and make recommendations about your child's reading needs.

Study is conducted by the Education and Brain Laboratory of the Vanderbilt Special Education Department in Nashville TN 37203.

Study is sponsored by the National Institute of Child Health & Human Development, National Institute of Health.

Participant Criteria

10 to 14 year old children

with and without reading disabilities

Compensation

up to $150 (check mailed to your home after the study is completed - $75 for academic tests, $75 for MRI).

Visit Requirements

2 to 3 visits; total of 9 hours
