Description

We are interested in whether typically developing children and those with ASD (autism spectrum diagnosis) prefer to watch a video of an interactive person, or the person right in front of them. We hope to understand how to gain and keep the attention of children with ASD for future video learning.

We ask you, the parent, and your child to:

  1. come for a single 1 to 3 hour visit to our playroom
  2. share information about your child's development and media use
  3. watch short videos and live presentations of songs and games
  4. some children with autism may complete the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule

Participant Criteria

  • Children between 24 and 84 months old (7 years)
  • with an autism spectrum diagnosis, or
  • with typical development

Compensation

Child gets a book or toy, and parking is provided.

Visit Requirements
