Description

Alzheimer's is more than just the changes that come with getting older. According to the Alzheimer's Association, African-Americans are at greater risk for Alzheimer’s than other groups.

We are trying to find the genes that may explain these higher numbers. We are also interested in how diet and life experiences can interact with these genes.

We will ask you to:

  1. read and sign a consent form
  2. tell us about your family and medical history
  3. do tests of memory, thinking, mood and concentration
  4. give a blood sample.
  5. Participant Criteria

    • People with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s who have more than minor memory problems
    • The spouse of an individual with Alzheimer's disease
    • Anyone over 60 without memory problems as part of the comparison group
