Hearing Evaluation for Adults with Hearing Loss

Last Updated: Wednesday, July 29, 2009

Principal Investigator: Linda Hood, Ph.D.

Other researchers: Heather McCaslin, Au.D., CCC

Description

Testing the hearing of infants and young children is often challenging since they cannot tell us what they hear in the way that older children and adults do. We are developing a hearing test that requires no response.

We are looking for adults with hearing loss as comparisons for how this approach works in adults. Participants will listen to sounds through earphones while resting comfortably or sitting and watching a video. In another test, they will respond to the sounds they hear.

We will tell you what we learn about your hearing. We will help you find services if you need them.
