Americans with Disabilities Act

Information and Technical Assistance on the Americans with Disabilities Act, the federal law that gives civil rights protections to individuals with disabilities. It guarantees equal opportunity in public accommodations, employment, transportation, State and local government services, and telecommunications.

Easter Seals provides exceptional services to ensure that people living with autism and other disabilities have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play.

Going to College: A resource for teens with disabilities

provides video clips, activities, and resources that can help students get a head start in planning for college. Video interviews with college students with disabilities offer a way to hear firsthand from students with disabilities who have been successful. Modules include activities that will help students explore more about themselves, learn what to expect from college, and equip them with important considerations and tasks to complete when planning for college.

Institute for Community Inclusion

Offers training, clinical, and employment services, conducts research, and provides assistance to organizations to promote inclusion of people with disabilities in school, work, and community activities.

National Arts and Disability Center (NADC)

Promotes the full inclusion of audiences and artists with disabilities into all facets of the arts community. The NADC is a leading consultant in the arts and disability community.

National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities (NICHCY)

Provides information to the nation on disabilities in children and youth, programs and services for infants, children, and youth with disabilities, IDEA, the nation's special education law, No Child Left Behind, the nation's general education law, and research-based information on effective practices for children with disabilities. Also offers a listing of campsites and programs around the nation that offer services and specialized summer camp programs for children and youth with disabilities.

The Center for the Study and Advancement of Disability Policy (CSADP)

Provides public education, leadership development and training, technical assistance and information dissemination, and conducts action-research and analysis of public policy issues affecting individuals with disabilities and their families.

The Institute on Community Integration

The National Association for the Dually Diagnosed (NADD)

NADD is a not-for-profit membership association established for professionals, care providers and families to promote understanding of and services for individuals who have developmental disabilities and mental health needs. The mission of NADD is to advance mental wellness for persons with developmental disabilities through the promotion of excellence in mental health care.
