Application Process for Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Affiliates

Criteria for appointment as an Affiliate includes:

  • an expressed interest in being affiliated with the Vanderbilt Center
  • ongoing participation in Vanderbilt Kennedy Center research or research training program associated with the Center or related to the Center's mission, or ongoing participation in programs of the VKC University Center for Excellence for Developmental Disabilities
  • nomination by a Vanderbilt Kennedy Center Investigator or Member with whom the applicant works

Application for Affiliate status, which may be submitted at any time during the year, consists of a letter from the applicant and/or VKC faculty advisor describing the applicant’s relationship to the Center’s mission and why the candidate is seeking affiliation.  The letter should describe the candidate's involvement in VKC research, training, or clinical or service activities associated.   This letter should be co-signed by the candidate and the VKC faculty sponsor. 

Materials should be submitted electronically to the attention of Jan Rosemergy. Applications will be submitted to the VKC Director for approval. The Director's decision will be communicated to the applicant.

Note: Vanderbilt students or postdoctoral fellows who present posters at the annual VKC Science Day are appointed as Affiliates by virtue of their participation. All Affiliates are eligible to apply for a limited number of annual VKC Travel Awards.
