Research Rights

Your rights as a research volunteer are protected by national and international law. In Vanderbilt consent forms, you are guaranteed:

• a right to privacy.
• a right to choose to participate.
• a right to change your mind about your choice.
• a right to know what you will be asked to do.
• a right to know what will happen during the research.

Research Family Partners and the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center take your privacy very seriously. Research Family Partners is a secure, central database that will store your information if you wish to be matched with research studies, now or in the future. All Research Family Partners and the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center data that is sent between the web server and browsers will be coded (encrypted) using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protection. The Research Family Partners registry is maintained at Vanderbilt and overseen by the Vanderbilt Institutional Review Board. Research Family Partners and the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center will never sell, rent or lease your personal information.
