As the Center's Director of Community Outreach, McMillan has over 10 years' experience in developing person- and family-centered supports and advocacy programs. She holds leadership roles in numerous national, state, and community disabilities organizations, including The Arc of the U.S., Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities and Partners in Policy Making, Disability Law and Advocacy Center of Tennessee, Governor's Advisory Council on Special Education for People with Disabilities, and the Tennessee Disability Coalition. As Co-Director of the Center's UCEDD, she provides oversight of daily operations and assists area coordinators and directors of core functions in planning and implementation. She is responsible for personnel, budget oversight, and representing the UCEDD at the local, state,and national level. She is responsible for oversight of the Education and Early Intervention Area, Individual and Family Supports Area, Adult Pilot Programs Area, and leads the Policy and Systems Change Support Team. She has three children, including a son with Down syndrome.
