Description of research program and its relevance to the Center's mission:
My research interest is understanding the basic mechanisms that underlie skeletal muscle dysfunction in elderly men and women. Specifically, I am interested in abnormalities associated with sarcopenia. An extension of my research is the use of exercise to slow down and rehabilitate muscle dysfunction in elderly.
