Morgan’s research interests include using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) to study brain activation under various situations. She has used this technique to determine differences in pain sensations in Irritable Bowel Syndrome, disruption in frontal-cerebellar pathways in alcoholics, and differences in Braille language processing in the visual cortex in blind persons of different lengths of vision loss. She is currently using fMRI to localize seizure foci in individuals with epilepsy and to quantify the neurological correlates of chronic exposure to media violence in children.
