Best Buddies Tennessee congratulates the recipients of this year’s Outstanding Chapter Award: Vanderbilt University and Ravenwood High School.

At the end of each school year, Best Buddies Tennessee chooses both a high school and college chapter to be celebrated with this honor. Chapters that win the distinguished Outstanding Chapter Award must exhibit high quality one-to-one friendships, successful and effective group outings, inclusive involvement among everyone in the chapter and dedication and commitment to the Best Buddies mission.

With leadership from Chapter President James Moseley, Best Buddies Ravenwood made great strides during its inaugural year. Ravenwood had an excellent showing at the first-ever Best Buddies Friendship Walk as it put together a team of nearly 70 walkers and raised over $3,800.

Having laid a successful foundation for the future during its first year, Ravenwood proved itself to be a well-deserving of the Outstanding Chapter of the Year title.

As one of the veteran chapter of Best Buddies Tennessee, Vanderbilt continued to impress in 2011-12. Camila Ortiz and Will Macon worked together throughout the year as College Buddy Directors to plan and coordinator group outings for the over 300 members.

With a dedicated board of officers in place and a storied history, Best Buddies Vanderbilt will no doubt continue to thrive.

Congratulations Ravenwood and Vanderbilt!
