Music artists and leaders attended a “Lunch and Learn” in January co-hosted by the VKC Leadership Council (LC) and Academy of Country Music Lifting Lives Foundation. Erin Spahn, Fnd Director, expressed pride in the VKC ACM Lifting Lives Foundation Music Camp: “Music can be more than feeling good-- we can help improve the science behind it.” Music camper Seth Link, who has Williams syndrome, said that he has grown as a musician and as a person helping others by taking part in research. LC leader Lorie Lytle has been committed to “shining light on the diamond that is the VKC” since her son received help for language delay. Lytle and VKC Director Elisabeth Dykens shared a vision of a Music and Mind Initiative, a VKC collaboration in Music City USA to explore multiple aspects of music and the mind to benefit persons with diverse disorders.
