Dykens Honored by Davidson County Mental Health Court

The Davidson County Mental Health Court honored Elisabeth M. Dykens, Ph.D., at its graduation ceremony held April 15. Pictured above is Steven Murff, Director of the Mental Health Court Program; Dr. Dykens; and Judge Daniel Eisenstein, the Presiding Judge for the Mental Health Court.

Dr. Dykens is the Director of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Research on Human Development, Co-Director of the University Center for Excellence in Development Disabilities, and Professor of Psychology & Human Development, Psychiatry, and Pediatrics.

Dr. Dykens has worked with Judge Eisenstein for the past 4½ years to develop a program for participants in the Davidson County Mental Health Court, which implements and supervises a year-long structured probation treatment program for over 150 people who experience serious and persistent mental illness. Many of these individuals also have developmental disabilities and substance abuse problems.
