In collaboration with the Tennessee Department of Education, the Vanderbilt Kennedy Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD) is pleased to provide a workshop geared specifically toward para-educators who work with students with autism spectrum disorders in grades K-12. This workshop will cover topics including the characteristics of autism, behavior management principles, instructional strategies, and integrating different methodologies. The training will provide opportunities for participants to: 1) practice techniques during hands-on activities, 2) create tasks and visual supports to bring back to their classroom, and 3) problem-solve through challenges they face with their particular student.
Registration is free. To register for the workshop, please contact Linda Copas with the Tennessee Department of Education via email or (615) 741-7790.
