Vanderbilt’s Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD) will provide a half-day workshop is designed specifically for parents and families of children with an autism spectrum disorder. This workshop opportunity is sponsored by the Tennessee Department of Education.
The Parent Workshop will consist of a combination of didactic instruction, video examples, small and large group instruction, and application activities. Workshop topics will include identifying the characteristics of autism spectrum disorders and how they impact daily activities and interaction with others, becoming familiar with evidence-based practices that can be used to address the unique needs of children with autism spectrum disorders, and developing a plan to integrate these strategies into daily routines to promote functional communication, social skills, play behaviors, and decrease challenging behaviors.

Deadline for registration is Wednesday, Apr. 23, two weeks prior to Day 1 of the workshop, or until full.
