Vanderbilt’s Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD) will provide a 2-day workshop designed for paraeducators who directly serve students with autism in a variety of settings in grades K-12. This opportunity is sponsored by the Tennessee Department of Education.
Para-Educator Workshop consists of a combination of didactic instruction, video demonstration, and application activities. Training topics include characteristics of autism, behavior management principles, instructional strategies, and tips for implementing new and different methodologies in school settings. During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to practice techniques during hands-on activities, create supports to take back to the classroom, and problem-solve through challenges they face on a daily basis.
Participants must attend both days in order to receive a certificate of completion.
Deadline for registration is Thursday, Sept. 12, two weeks prior to Day 1 of the workshop, or until full.
