This conference will empower and educate adult siblings who have a brother or a sister with a disability with information and resources, and will develop local and statewide networks of adult siblings. It will be held at Holiday Inn Vanderbilt, 2613 West End Ave., in Nashville.
Keynote Speaker:
The keynote speaker for dinner Friday night is Scott Modell, Ph.D., who is himself a sibling. Since August 2011, he has served as Deputy Commissioner of Policy and Innovation in Tennessee’s Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD), In addition, Dr. Modell founded and served as the Director of the Autism Center in Sacramento, CA, and was a professor at California State University Sacramento. He has received international recognition for his work in the area of disability abuse and interview techniques for people with developmental disabilities. He has taught for the Office of Victims of Crime (OVC), California District Attorneys Association (CDAA), National Adult Protective Services Association (NAPSA), New Mexico Crime Victims Reparation Commission, National Organization for Victims Assistance (NOVA), and the Singapore National Council of Social Service. Through his community-based programs and public school experience, Dr. Modell has worked with thousands of children and adults with disabilities. He has been widely recognized at the local, state, and national level for the provision of community-based services for people with disabilities.

Registration is $50 standard, $25 for students. Fee includes meals, conference materials, and a TABS tote bag. Limited financial assistance is available. Deadline to register is March 30.
