September is Infant Mortality Awareness Month. In recognition, sponsors will be putting on two back-to-back conferences to address the issue.
The Tennessee Infrant Mortality Summit will take place on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tennessee State University's Avon Williams Downtown Campus, located at 330 10th Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37203. The theme being "Teaming Up for Change," this summit is designed to be a forum for local teams to come together and learn about strategies to improve birth outcomes.

On Friday, Sept. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Metro Public Health Department is sponsoring the 11th annual Project Blossom Conference, also at the TSU Avon Williams Downtown Campus. This year'as these is "Bringing Down the Numbers: Success Stories from the Field."
Partners of Project Blossom are Music City Healthy Start, LifePath, AmeriGroup Real Solutions, Volunteer State Health Plan, March of Dimes, and United Healthcare.
