The KidTalk Picnic thanks and celebrates the many families who take part in KidTalk projects at the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Research on Human Development, Vanderbilt University. KidTalk at Vanderbilt regularly provides intervention to young children with language delays or at risk for language delays through ongoing research and demonstration projects. Currently, KidTalk runs 4 different projects providing language intervention and/or parent training for young children with autism, cleft lip or palate, language delays, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental disabilities.
The event will feature games and activities for children and families, including balloon animals, wagon rides, face painting, arts and crafts, cookie decorating, and others. Musical acts include songwriter Skip Black and son Skyler Black on percussion and other guest appearances.
Event is by invitation only.
