TRIAD Discrete Trial Training Workshop
Racing Toward the Goal: Using Discrete Trial to Teach Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders
(West TN)

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

The Department of Education, Division of Special Education, in collaboration with the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD), would like to announce a repeat of the Discrete Trial Training Workshop titled “Racing Toward the Goal: Using Discrete Trial to Teach Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.”

This full-day workshop is geared toward school staff (teachers, paraeducators, speech-language pathologists, etc.) who work directly with students with ASD on a consistent basis. This is an intermediate-level training focused on integrating discrete trial into routines. Participants will focus on one student for whom they have previously identified goals, in order to develop an individualized student-specific program. Participants will create a program binder to use with their students.

This workshop will be open to a maximum of 30 (thirty) people in each location. Hours are 8:30-3:30, with lunch on your own. To register, click the link below, complete the attached application, and return it using the instructions at the top. Please choose the session closest to you. There is no cost for the workshop, but participants must apply and be chosen. Application does not guarantee admission.

Application deadline: January 1, 2011

Notification of acceptance will be made by e-mail (or phone, if e-mail is not available) four weeks before the session begins.
