Summer Camp Survival Guide:

Helping Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders Navigate Camp Settings

This beginner-level training is designed to help leaders, teachers, and counselors involved in summer camps better serve children and adolescents with ASDs in their programs. During this full-day workshop, participants will learn ways to promote camper success and provide a positive learning environment for all children.

Specific topics include:

  • The characteristics of ASD and how they impact behavior and camp participation
  • Effective strategies for supporting children with ASD during camp activities
  • Techniques to improve peer interactions and teach appropriate social skills
