TRIAD Parent Workshop (East Tennessee)

Family Matters: Structuring Routines and Relationships

The Department of Education, Division of Special Education, in collaboration with the Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD) of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, would like to announce a new workshop titled “Family Matters: Structuring Routines and Relationships for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.”

This 3-hour workshop is designed for parents and family members of school-age children with ASD. Participants will learn how the features of ASD impact routines and relationships, and how to integrate evidence-based practices addressing routines and relationships into the lives of their children. Examples and activities will be used to apply strategies for a wide range of abilities on the autism spectrum. Training will also include opportunities for family members to develop take-home materials, and participate in a small-group question and answer session.

This is a no-cost half-day workshop designed for family members only. You must be registered to attend. The training will accommodate sixty (60) people. When capacity is reached, the workshop will be closed. No applications will be accepted after that.
