The Future Is Now: A Future Planning Workshop for Families and Their Adult Relatives with Developmental Disabilities

By drafting a Letter of Intent, parents/caregivers, siblings, and their adult relatives with a developmental disability will clarify their expectations for the future and identify potential supports.

Workshop focus will include discussions on:

• Purpose and benefits of future planning
• Building relationships and identifying supports
• Understanding housing options
• Work, leisure, and retirement
• Legal, financial, and guardianship information
• Self-advocacy and community involvement

A curriculum of five 2.5-hour sessions:
February 8, 15, and 22, and March 1 and 15.

$75 per family includes all 5 workshops. Limit 12 families.

Family participants may include adult with disability, parents/guardians, sibilings or other relatives, and personal assistants.
