TRIAD Administrator Academy (Basic)

Thursday, December 10-Friday, December 11, 2009

In collaboration with the Tennessee Department of Education, the Vanderbilt Kennedy Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD) is pleased to provide an academy geared specifically toward building-level school administrators (e.g., principals and assistant principals) and special education directors for the purpose of providing information on best practices for students with autism spectrum disorders that will enable them to evaluate their programs and provide teacher support. The academy will focus on the characteristics of autism, functional assessment, instructional strategies, data collection, functional communication, social skills development, adapting and administering state assessments, and working with parents. Each participant will receive TASL credit and a certificate for his/her participation in the 12 hours of training.

Registration is free. To register for the workshop, please contact Linda Copas with the Tennessee Department of Education via email or (615) 741-7790.
