The Vanderbilt Kennedy Center is one of just a few organizations in the U.S. to be a member of three federally funded national networks devoted to research, service, and training related to developmental disabilities: the Eunice Kenedy Shriver Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (14 in network), University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (67 in network), and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (34 in network). The Center addresses autism through the Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD).
