Sean: I just bought the brand new guitar hero Warroirs of rock video game on xbox 360, and I had a whole lot of fun playing it.

I can now play all the songs on expert level, and there were a lot of songs that I liked. There will never be a guitar hero that would beat all the other ones because guitar hero games are the     best video games I have ever played in my life.

Exploring the Arts

29. November 2010 19:03

This semester (Fall 2010) is quickly coming to an end. We've had many successes and learned many new things. One success that I would like to highlight is Sarratt Art Studios. This semester we had students in digital photography, water colors and exploring studios arts. All three Next Steps at Vanderbilt students thoroughly enjoying their experience in the art classes.

Andrew took the digital photography class. I have a few of his photos that I am so excited about posting and show casing in this blog entry.

Andrew's self portrait. Photo taken with self-timer on a tripod. In the middle is his dog and on the right is his mom holding his football.

A photograph portraying light.

Shapes in nature. The "V" form in trees.

Shapes in architecture. The shape of the water spiggets against the backdrop of the geometric bricks.

Portrait of Michael, Andrew's Ambassadore and photography buddy.

Happy (one day early) birthday, Chrissy!

17. November 2010 23:55

Today we had the joyous occasion of celebrating Chrissy's 30th birthday. Chrissy's birthday is tomorrow, but her peer mentors were able to gather together a good group of friends and other Next Step students to celebrate this afternoon! There was delicious Weight Watcher's chocolate cake, chips and salsa, and pigs in a blanket. We also had a balloon fight. Tongue out What fun!!!

Above is a photo of Chrissy with her Ambassadores. L-to-R: Emily, Ryane, Chrissy, Christine, Emmie

As her birthday present her Ambasasdores gave her a very cool Vanderbilt wind breaker jacket. How sweet!!

Fun photo taken at the Commons! L-to-R: Back - Andrew, Rachel, Front - Edward, Liz, Steven, Michael

Back to the start of Fall 2010

16. November 2010 14:27

I am so excited to say that we have 55 Ambasasdores working with Next Steps at Vanderbilt this fall semseter. The above photo was taken by Steve Green at the fall 2010 Student Organization Fair. Hugely in part to Edward's help we were able to recruit the majority of our newest peer mentors. Our cover story in the Vanderbilt View has also generated a great amount of interest in the program among students.

We're looking forward to another strong semester with lots of amazing Ambassadores in the spring!

Experimenting with projectiles! Lots of fun!

12. November 2010 15:37

We took a thing that's like a canon and put a marble to see how far we could shoot the marble through the projectile. We started off using 75 degrees and worked our way down to 25 degrees for the projectile angle. Jacquè took these great photos of us in the lab.
