Psychiatric Neuroimaging Program Experience for Emphasis Students
Description
The Psychiatric Neuroimaging Program in the Department of Psychiatry, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, offers specific program initiatives and didactics to augment the research experience of Emphasis students. Students will conduct their Emphasis research project with their participating faculty mentor. In addition to their individual Emphasis project and lab activities, the Psychiatric Neuroimaging Program offers a didactic seminar series (focusing on essential topics in psychiatric neuroimaging), a weekly journal club, and a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) short course during the summer Emphasis rotation. Students are given the opportunity to present a lecture in the fMRI short course and to present their work in the summer didactic series. Students are also encouraged to submit an Abstract to a national meeting, such as the Society for Biological Psychiatry or other meeting appropriate to their research.
