Equipment: Morris Watermaze

Location: PRB 863

watermaze

Description:

The Morris watermaze is a classic test of spatial learning and memory. Mice are trained with a visual cue for several days, then their ability to remember the location of a target platform is tested. The test can be repeated with a "hidden" version in which they are not allowed to see the location of the platform. This test is labor instensive and must be run every day for several weeks to obtain good results. Familiary with running NIH Image on Mac OS9 is helpful.

Usage Charges:

Usage of the Morris watermaze room is $16/hr. Members of either the Center for Molecular Neuroscience or the Kennedy Center receive a 50% discount

See Instructions page.
