What is the Week of the Young Child?

The National Week of the Young Child focuses public attention on the rights and needs of young children. It is sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which is dedicated to improving the quality of early childhood education for all young children and their families.

Nashville’s Week of the Young Child is sponsored by the Nashville Area Association for the Education of Young Children (NAAEYC), Vanderbilt University, and State and Nashville organizations. NAAEYC is an affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is dedicated to improving the quality of early childhood education and services for young children and their families. The purpose of the Week is to focus attention on the rights and needs of young children.
