INTMAN
Interval Manager for Windows and PocketPC
INTMAN is a software system
for collection and analysis of fixed time interval observation data. The program collects data by presenting a
screen with selections from up to 22 categories. The
user observes the setting of interest for an “observe” period and then select
applicable items from the available list for each category during a “record”
period. The observe period, the record
period and the codes to select from are customizable by the user. Observations can be done using a PocketPC or with ProcoderDV using
digital media files. Data is analyzed
using the INTMAN for Windows analysis program.
Analyses can be done on single files or lists of files. Output is
formatted into either a printable report or a comma separated text file for use
with statistical or spreadsheet programs.
Available Analyses
Code frequencies - Frequencies and percentages of intervals re calculated from the
observation files. The resulting output
can be sent directly to spreadsheet or statistical programs for further
analysis. Results can also be pooled
across sessions.
Inter-observer agreement – The observation data can be compared within
categories to determine the extent to which two observers agree on the
observation session. A Kappa agreement table and Cohen’s Kappa
statistics are provided as the results of the analysis for each code category.
Conditional Probabilities – The influence of code categories on each other can
be assessed using condition probabilities.
